Rumor Mill : New Showcases

This past week, three new Showcase Presents books came up on Amazon.com, all with a June 6th release date. No description yet, just the titles and covers images :

Showcase Presents : Batman Vol.2
Showcase Presents : The Atom Vol.1
Showcase Presents : Who's Who Vol.1

I'd be surprised if DC puts out those three books the same month. Really surprised. Considering the lack of info on the Batman book, I'd put my money on The Atom and the previously announced Who's Who.

Rumor Mill : Essential Silver Surfer Vol.2

Once again, a new Essential volume appeared on Amazon. Once again, it's related to a movie coming up pretty soon. By the way, I saw the trailer for Fantastic Four 2 and man that looks cool ! I was never interested in the first movie (still haven't seen it) but they did a great job generating interest in the sequel. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, go watch it right now !

Essential Silver Surfer Vol.2
After years of Earthbound exile, the Silver Surfer soars the seas of space once more and finds plenty of peril awaiting when the Elders of the Universe try something new: all-out war on Galactus! Plus: space piracy, intergalactic war, doppelgangers and the Surfer caught in a four-sided interstellar love triangle! Guest-starring the Fantastic Four, the Eternals, and Annihilation's Ronan and Super-Skrull! Plus: a rare glimpse of a path not traveled on an alternate Earth! Collects Silver Surfer (1982) #1, Silver Surfer (1987) #1-18 & Annual #1 and Marvel Fanfare #51.

As you can see, Amazing has a lot of ground to cover before closing in on Spectacular Spider-Man regarding their Essential collections. Amazing Vol.8 goes up to #185 of October 1978 whereas Spectacular Vol.3 ends with #53 of April 1981. That's a three year gap my friends. Still, according to Marvel's VP of sales David Gabriel, we can expect Amazing AND Marvel Team-Up to catch up with Spectacular pretty soon(1).
